Why Instagram Doesn't Bother Me Anymore - Tea & Curls
“Use social media for good and lift others up, not tear them down. Stay on the high road. Keep your peace.” ― Germany Kent

Algorithm is still a hot topic even after months of being announced and fully established. It has made it incredibly difficult for smaller bloggers to grow their following and engagement on Instagram as everything you see is the bigger bloggers with thousands and thousands of followers. This has gotten a lot of people upset, which I totally get.

Personal I don’t feel very affected by the algorithm as I’ve learnt to look at Instagram in a different perspective. I’ve learnt not to care and I’ve almost disassociated my blog from it. I know some of you will be looking at the screen with shock on your eyes thinking that’s a dumb mistake. Maybe it is. It might be a crucial mistake holding back but that’s how I do it.

I don’t want to worry about not having a picture to post today or if the picture I want to post will screw my entire theme. I’m much more of an instant Instagrammer (not at the full meaning of the word) – what started as being actually. I realised that posting my blog pictures on my Instagram wasn’t something I wanted for myself.

SHOP THE POST:

I want to post pictures of the beautiful places I see, the people I hang out with, and the food that I eat. However, I don’t see beautiful places everyday neither I hang out with my besties 24/7. This means I sometimes have nothing to post but that’s fine. Blogging related pictures are very pretty. Not arguing on that. But those are not who I am. I haven’t applied any eyeshadow in months, I don’t wear lipstick that often now and I don’t put on cute clothes every day and certainly my food doesn’t look pleasant enough to be on Instagram.

I’ve learnt that I want Instagram to be more a memory book, a platform where I can scroll down and take a look at the awesome moments I’ve experienced and have a laugh while commenting some terrible photos with my friends. I’ve learnt that Instagram is more a way of scrapbook of life for me than a way of growing my blog and that’s why Instagram algorithm doesn’t bother me anymore.

What are your opinions on Instagram? Do you feel that the algorithm has affected you?
