Why I'm Not Setting Any Goals This Month

“Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Devil and Miss Prym

I believe that setting goals make us wish for improvement. We do it because we want to do better and push ourselves leaving our comfort zone and hopefully see a little success. Truth be told, goals make us be the best version ourselves – it makes us work even harder and get bigger and bigger every day. However, this month I’m not setting any goals. Let me tell you why.

In the past I have set myself goals and even shared them on the blog (read 4 Blog Goals for This Autumn), let me tell you what happened – I failed them all. In the summer I always absolutely love blogging, it has been something I have been loving for a few years now but when September comes and classes begin, I can’t deal with all the craziness around me and my blog always gets put to the side.

I end up neglecting my blog because I look at it as one more obligation, one more responsibility and I don’t want to have to deal with tons at the same time. Whenever I set goals for my blog, it loses its purpose. I started this blog because I love blogging. Blogging isn’t my job and it’s supposed to be fun not an extra weight on my shoulders.

September has now begun and I’m scared that I’ll leave my dearest Tea & Curls behind once more. I’m scared as hell, to be honest. It’s hard to admit that I’ve failed and that I’m might not be capable of keeping it up. It’s bloody hard and I want to keep it up more than anything but responsibilities are what they are and they have to be taken care of.

Blogging is a hobby and I’m hoping to find the time for it as well as the inspiration. That’s another reason why I’m not setting myself any blogging goals this time. I am a lot more creative and feel a lot more inspired when I don’t pressure myself to do it. I think I’ll be more likely to blog if I don’t see it as something I must do instead of something I want to do.

Have you ever been in a similar place when it comes to blogging?
